Craving Something Chocolaty? This One’s for You
There are days when all I want is something rich and chocolaty. No fancy toppings, no layers, just pure chocolate goodness. And that is exactly how this double chocolate brownie happened. I was seriously craving something sweet and comforting, something that feels like a warm hug. And nothing fits that feeling better than a brownie.
Now let me be honest. Baking is always a bit of a mess for me. People say baking is therapy. But I do not know why I always end up clumsy in the kitchen. Flour on the counter, cocoa powder on my shirt, and somehow my whisk always lands somewhere it should not. But this time, surprisingly, the process felt easy. The recipe came together smoothly. Just when I thought I finally managed a clean baking day, my tripod broke while I was filming. Typical right?
But you know what? All that chaos was worth it. These brownies turned out so chocolaty, rich, and soft with that perfect crackly top. One bite and I knew all the mess, the broken tripod, and the filming hustle paid off.
If you love gooey chocolate desserts, then this is the recipe you must try. It is a simple bake that gives you real comfort in every bite.
Ingredients
25 grams butter
75 grams dark chocolate
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 egg
50 grams sugar
3 drops vanilla extract
50 grams all-purpose flour
A handful of chocolate chunks for topping
Start by taking a pan and adding the butter. Heat it gently on the stove. Keep stirring it until the butter starts to foam and turns golden brown. You will notice a nutty smell. That is when you know your brown butter is ready. Be careful not to burn it.
Turn off the heat and immediately pour the hot butter into a mixing bowl. Now add the dark chocolate into the hot butter. Because the butter is still hot, the chocolate melts quickly and smoothly. Stir it well until everything becomes a shiny and smooth mixture. Add the cocoa powder to this and mix again. Set this aside to cool slightly.
In another bowl, crack one egg and add sugar. Using a whisk, mix the egg and sugar until the sugar completely dissolves. This step is important because it gives your brownie that soft texture and slightly shiny top. Now add the vanilla extract and give it a quick stir.
Once your chocolate mixture has cooled a bit, add it to the egg-sugar mix. Stir everything together until it is well combined. Then add the flour. Mix gently just until everything comes together. Try not to overmix the batter, as it can make the brownies dense.
Now grease a baking tin and pour the batter into it. Once the batter is spread evenly, add some chocolate chunks on top. These melt as they bake and give gooey pockets of chocolate in every bite.
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius for ten minutes. Then place the tin in the oven and bake at the same temperature for around 25 to 30 minutes. The top should look set and slightly crackly, but the inside will still be soft.
Once baked, take it out of the oven and let it cool completely for at least one to two hours. This makes it easier to cut and gives the brownie the perfect texture.

So that was my double chocolate brownie story. A day that started with a craving, turned into a little baking mess, and ended with the most chocolaty reward. Even though my tripod broke and the kitchen looked like a chocolate explosion, I would still say it was all worth it.
These brownies are simple, rich, and full of that deep chocolate flavor that we all love. Whether you are baking for yourself, your family, or just to lift your mood, this recipe is the kind that never disappoints.
If you try this, let me know how it turns out for you. And if your kitchen gets a little messy like mine, just remember that sometimes the best things come out of a little chaos.
Happy baking and happy eating.
